Power Systems

Public Utility Provider is Florida Power & Light Company ("FPL"). FPL feeders deliver power at 13,200 volts. There are two (2) FPL vaults (East & West) each with a capacity of supplying 40 MVA, equivalent to 48,000 amperes each at 480-volt 3-phase power.

Each vault has power supplied from separate grid systems providing redundancy; further, the vaults are interconnected.

Generators:

There are two (2) generator vaults per floor, each of which are sized for three 2 Meg generator sets with 1,300 gallon supplemental belly tanks, including containment and flush stations for each vault.

Fuel Farm:

Located at the Southeast and Southwest corners of the facility are two (2) fuel tank vaults, each containing three (3) pods. Within each pod are two (2) 15,000-gallon tanks, providing a total capacity of 180,000 gallons of diesel fuel storage.There are two (2) diesel filling stations - East and West - designed for refueling of base building fuel tanks. Each station houses four (4) fuel tankers that could supply an additional 80,000 gallons of fuel in emergency situations.

Associated with the fill stations are pump stations and fuel ports. The pump stations supply fuel to the upper levels for generation equipment and the fuel ports are designed to refill the holding tanks on the ground level.

A TMS 2000 system relays fuel refilling and pump station sequences to main base building security.
